Jessica Pegula vs Iga Swiatek prediction
Jessica Pegula came back from the brink to advance through to the final of the Bad Homburg Final. Her semi-final opponent Linda Noskova served for the match at 5-4 in the second set, but Pegula broke her serve on two occasions to force a decider. The top seed breezed through the final set to win 6-7 7-5 6-1.
She will take on Iga Swiatek in the final. Swiatek booked her place in the final of a grass court tournament for the first time in her career after easily beating Jasmine Paolini in a rematch of the 2024 French Open final. The five-time major champion gave up just one break point as she beat the Italian 6-1 6-3.
These two have faced each other on 10 previous occasions, with Swiatek leading the head-to-head 6-4. However, Pegula won their last contest, a straight sets victory in the quarter-final of the US Open last year while this will be their first match against each other on grass.
Swiatek has been mostly untroubled during this tournament and is yet to lose a set. She has been very strong on serve throughout and is good value to pick up her maiden grass court title.
