Jessica Pegula booked her place in the quarter-finals of the Bad Homburg Open after defeating Katerina Siniakova 6-2 6-3. It was a strong performance from the American, who won 87% of her first serve points. It was her first victory on the surface this season after losing early on to Liudmila Samsonova at the German Open last week.
She faces a fellow American in the last eight as she takes on Emma Navarro. Navarro continued her progress at the tournament as she beat four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka 6-4 6-4 in the round-of-16 stage. She is into the quarter-finals of Bad Homburg for the third year running and has now won two matches in a row for the first time since the Charleston Open in April.
