Jessica Pegula continued her pursuit of a second Washington title with a confident win over Anna Kalinskaya.
The top seed maintained her strong head-to-head against the Russian courtesy of a 6-3 7-5 success.
The American will now face another Russian in the shape of Diana Shnaider for a place in the final.
The fourth seed took down her compatriot Liudmila Samonsova by a 6-3 6-4 scoreline.
This will be their fourth meeting and Pegula has won all of the previous three, including two on hardcourts in North America without dropping a set.
