Jessica Pegula vs Alexandra Eala prediction

Jessica Pegula remains on course for a second Washington title after seeing off the challenge of Diana Shnaider.

The top seed prevailed 7-5 6-4 over the Russian and will now face Alexandra Eala in a showdown for the trophy, after the Filipina shocked Naomi Osaka 6-4 6-2.

The world number 28 is into her first WTA 500 final and a maiden one overall on a hardcourt. 

This will be their second meeting with Jpeg winning in three in Miami last year.

The American will be keen to deliver on home turf, but it is surely only a matter of time until Eala wins a big title. 

Pegula has the experience and consistency and won’t make the same number of unforced errors like Osaka, but will still think it’s worth a punt on Eala, even if the head and most of the indicators say Jess.
