Jessica Bouzas Maneiro vs Elena Rybakina prediction

Jessica Bouzas Maneiro advanced to the second-round of the US Open after a straight sets win over Darja Vidmanova. The Spaniard converted five out of six break points as she won 6-3 6-4. She only reached the round-of-16 of a WTA 125 event in Philadelphia last week, but Bouzas Maneiro was largely in control of her opening match in New York.

Her next opponent is Elena Rybakina. The two-time Grand Slam champion began her campaign at Flushing Meadows with a comfortable win over 17-year-old Thea Frodin. Rybakina was not broken on serve as she completed a 6-3 6-2 victory after one hour and 14 minutes. She will become world number one if she progresses to the semi-finals of the event, even if Aryna Sabalenka defends her title. 

Rybakina leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a straight sets win at the United Cup in 2024. She will be the clear favourite to win again.
