Jesper de Jong vs Vilius Gaubas prediction

Jesper de Jong last competed at Wimbledon, winning his first-round match against Rinky Hijikata but then suffering a defeat to Joao Fonseca in straight sets. The Dutchman progressed to the round-of-16 at Roland Garros last month. De Jong reached the final in Bastad last year, losing to Luciano Darderi in three sets. He will be hoping to go one better this time around.

Vilius Gaubas is his opponent in round one. He qualified for Wimbledon after three straight wins, but he was unable to win his first-round match after a defeat to Kyrian Jacuqet. His best result on the ATP Tour so far this year was a quarter-final appearance at the Chile Open in Santiago. He also reached the last four of a Challenger event in Oeiras.

De Jong leads the overall head-to-head 1-0 after beating Gaubas in US Open qualifying last year. He has excelled in these conditions before, and he will be expected to win this match.
