Jesper de Jong vs Joao Fonseca prediction

Jesper de Jong advanced to the second-round at Wimbledon after beating Rinky Hijikata in five sets. Hijikata had reached the quarter-finals of Queen’s Club and went two sets to one up in this match, but De Jong fought back to win 7-6 (4) 3-6 5-7 6-4 6-3. The Dutchman progressed to the round-of-16 at Roland Garros earlier this month, losing to eventual champion and world number three Alexander Zverev.

He faces Joao Fonseca in round two. The teenager enjoyed a comfortable first-round match as he beat Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets. Bautista Agut was making his final appearance at the All England Club, but he faded away after a competitive first set as Fonseca won 7-6 (4) 6-4 6-3. This was the Brazilian’s first match since his surprising opening round loss at the Halle Open.

Fonseca should be able to dominate a number of the rallies with his explosive game, and he is the heavy favourite to go through in this one.

Jesper de Jong vs Joao Fonseca tip: Joao Fonseca to win 3-0
