Jesper de Jong vs Chris Eubanks prediction
Jesper de Jong will be making his Wimbledon debut at this year’s event. He lost in the first-round of the Libema Open and Mallorca Championships. He did manage to win his two qualifying matches at Halle, but was once again eliminated in round one after a tough three set battle with Tomas Machac.
Chris Eubanks has featured in just one grass court tournament leading up to Wimbledon. He competed on the Challenger Tour in Ilkley but lost in the first-round to compatriot Murphy Cassone. He then withdrew from the Nottingham Open due to injury. Eubanks is known for his run to the quarter-finals here two years ago, which included a victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas in the fourth-round.
Eubanks has won just two Grand Slam matches since that last eight appearance two years ago and he has struggled to perform consistently on the tour. Nevertheless, De Jong is inexperienced on the grass and is also not in the best of form. There is no clear favourite in this one and it’s likely to be decided in four or five sets.
