Jesper de Jong vs Andrey Rublev prediction
Jesper de Jong competed at the Rotterdam Open last week but lost in the first-round after a defeat to Karen Khachanov. The Dutchman did take the first set and looked on course for a rare upset, but Khachanov came back to win in three. He has won just one match from six in 2026, with his worst loss being in the Davis Cup to India’s Dhakshineswar Suresh in straight sets.
Andrey Rublev returns to Doha as the defending champion. He beat Jack Draper in the final last year. Rublev has only competed in two tournaments so far this season. He got through to the semi-finals in Hong Kong, losing to Lorenzo Musetti. He was not at his best in Melbourne, as he lost in the third-round to Francisco Cerundolo in straight sets.
Rublev will hope to make another deep run at this event, having won it last year, and De Jong is unlikely to pull off an upset in the opening round.
