Jenson Brooksby vs Francisco Cerundolo prediction
Jenson Brooksby ended a nine-match losing run in the first-round of Queen’s Club as he defeated qualifier Martin Damm in three sets. Brooksby was taken to a deciding set but crucially opened up a 3-0 lead at the start of the third, winning 6-4 3-6 6-3 after one hour and 49 minutes.
He will now face Francisco Cerundolo in the next stage. The Argentine began his grass court campaign with a three set win over Aleksandar Kovacevic. Cerundolo was just two points away from winning the match in straight sets after going 5-4 up in the tiebreak, but Kovacevic would win the final three points of the set to take the match into a decider. However, Cerundolo would break the American's on two more occasions to win 6-4 6-7 (5) 6-2.
Brooksby will take plenty of encouragement from ending his losing streak in the first-round and his unconventional style could trouble Cerundolo, who does not have a particularly strong record on grass.
