Jeffrey de Graaf vs Rashad Sweeting Prediction

2024 has been something of a comeback year for multiple BDO title winner Jeffrey de Graaf, who originally made the switch from the now defunct BDO organisation in 2016, spending three years in the PDC before losing his tour card at the end of 2016.

However, De Graaf earned his card back at the beginning of 2024 via the European Q-School, and has made a number of televised appearances including a run to the quarter-finals at the World Cup of Darts back in June, where he represented Sweden for the first time.

The 34-year-old did had a poor record in World Championship events until he reached the third round last year. He had previously lost in the first round in his previous six entries across both the BDO and PDC iterations.

Facing off against De Graaf will be Rashad Sweeting, who will make history as the first player from the Bahamas to feature in the PDC World Darts Championship. Sweeting earned his place after winning two of the four events held by the Championship Darts Latin America & Caribbean Tour in 2024, and he topped the Order of Merit as a result.

This is undoubtedly the biggest moment in Sweeting’s career and he’ll have nothing to lose against his more established opponent. De Graaf has had a solid year on tour though, even reaching a Players Championship final in May, and should prove too classy for the debutant.
