Jaume Munar vs Novak Djokovic prediction

Novak Djokovic overcame physical issues and an inspired opponent to reach the round of 16 in Shanghai.

The four-time champion rallied in the third to edge to a 4-6 7-5 6-3 victory over the German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann. 

The fifth seed will now meet Jaume Munar for a second time after the Spaniard ended Yoshihito Nishioka’s resurgence with a 6-4 5-7 6-1 success.

The first Munar-Djoker meeting was seven years ago at the French Open so won’t have much significance here. Instead, this will come down to Djokovic’s recovery. In recent years there have been many times when he has seemed to be ailing with question marks over how he will shape up in this next match, only to answer them emphatically. 

The Serb likes these conditions and often locks in towards the business end of tournaments, so he will likely prevail again, it just depends on whether Munar can make it a battle like Hanfmann did.
