Jaume Munar vs Francisco Cerundolo prediction

Jaume Munar breezed through his first-round match, defeating Dan Martin 6-3 6-0 after just an hour and 10 minutes. Munar did not even face a break point as he won the last 10 service games of the match to advance through to round two.

His opponent will be Francisco Cerundolo. He competes in his first hard court tournament since late March. The Argentine returned to compete in two clay court events after his first-round defeat at Wimbledon. He reached the semi-finals in Bastad as the top seed but lost early on to Carlos Taberner in Umag. Despite his suitability on clay, Cerundolo also flourished on hard courts earlier in the year, reaching the last eight in both Sunshine Double events at Indian Wells and Miami.

This will be their first match against each other away from a clay court, with Cerundolo leading the head-to-head 2-1, though Munar did win their most recent contest in Cordoba last year. These two are pretty evenly matched on this surface and it may go the distance.
