Jasmine Paolini vs Sorana Cirstea prediction

Jasmine Paolini produced a much more convincing performance in the second-round, beating fellow Italian Lucrezia Stefanini in straight sets. The 19th seed converted six of nine break points and won 53% of her return points against Stefanini’s first serve, taking increasing control as the match progressed. Paolini won 6-4 6-1. She had needed three sets in her opening match, eventually overcoming Veronika Erjavec 6-3 3-6 6-4 on her return from an injury layoff.

Sorana Cirstea continued her impressive season by ending Diane Parry’s six-match winning streak with a 6-2 7-5 win in the second-round. The Romanian won 71% of points behind her first serve and faced only three break points, while converting four of the 10 opportunities she created. Cirstea had been even more dominant in round one, brushing aside Julia Grabher 6-3 6-0. She therefore enters the contest having dropped only 10 games across her opening four sets. 

Paolini leads the head-to-head 2-0, although they have not played since 2024. Cirstea is playing with plenty of confidence and is well suited to these quicker conditions.
