Jasmine Paolini vs Maria Sakkari prediction

Former finalist Jasmine Paolini is hoping a strong run at Wimbledon will transform her season.

The Italian has struggled for consistency this year but has put two solid victories together in SW19, including a 7-6 6-4 success over Viktorija Golubic last time out.

Next up, the 13th seed faces world number 43 Maria Sakkari for a sixth time. The Greek has also lacked solid form in recent months but leads the match-up 3-2, winning the most recent tussle in Doha back in February.

This will be a maiden battle on grass and they have similar records on the surface statistically. 

We fancy Paolini in this one simply because she has gone to the wire at this tournament previously but their history suggests the first set will be key given all of their matches have ended in straight sets.
