Jasmine Paolini vs Barbora Krejcikova prediction

Jasmine Paolini booked her place in the last-16 of the Cincinnati Open with a straight sets win over Ashlyn Krueger. The Italian saved a set point on serve at 6-5 in the first set but didn’t face a break point after that as she won 7-6 6-1. She is yet to drop a set at this year’s tournament as she eyes a deep run.

She now faces Barbora Krejcikova in a rematch of the 2024 Wimbledon final, which the Czech won. Krejcikova defeated 17-year-old Iva Jovic in the third-round here. The two-time Grand Slam champion made a strong start but Jovic dominated the second set to force a decider. The 29-year-old showed all her experience to break the Jovic serve on two occasions and win 6-4 3-6 6-2.

Krejcikova is gathering some momentum for the first time this year after such a long layoff, but her level can dip during a match, and she is still prone to errors on that forehand side. Paolini will be determined to get a win here after their last encounter and may just have enough to squeeze through.
