Jasmine Paolini vs Anastasija Sevastova prediction
Jasmine Paolini arrives at SW19 on the back of a semi-final finish at the Bad Homburg Open, where she lost to Iga Swiatek. But it’s been a very positive couple of months for Paolini, who won the Italian Open and also made the semi-finals in both Stuttgart and Miami. Beaten in last year’s Wimbledon singles final in three sets by Barbora Krejcikova, the Italian will be desperate to go one step further in 2025.
Anastasija Sevastova has lost both previous meetings with Paolini, neither of which were on grass with their last encounter coming all the way back in 2021. She’s likely to spend most of this encounter on the back foot and will need to be at her very best defensively to stand a chance against the excellent Paolini.
Expect a dominant performance from fourth seed Paolini and any outcome other than victory for her would be a big surprise. But the value here comes from not just backing Paolini to come out on top, but to do so in straight sets.
