The Spaniard clinched a 6-2 6-4 success over the American to set a second meeting with Jaqueline Cristian within a matter of weeks. 

The Romanian posted a 6-2 7-6 triumph over Elisabetta Cocciaretto and will now hope to improve upon a 6-4 6-0 humbling against Bouza Maneiro in Beijing.
