Jaqueline Cristian vs Janice Tjen prediction
Jaqueline Cristian’s last tournament was in Dubai a couple of weeks ago, with the Romanian making the third-round. She began her campaign with a thumping win over Petra Marcinko and then advanced to round three following Ella Seidel’s retirement after winning the first set 6-0. Her run would end following a straight sets defeat to Mirra Andreeva. Her best result of the season so far was a quarter-final appearance at the Adelaide International, and she is ranked just outside the top 30 of the world rankings.
She faces Janice Tjen, who is ranked just a few places further down. Tjen currently has a negative win-loss record during the early part of this season, with seven defeats from 12 matches. She was defeated in the first-round of the Merida Open by Camila Osorio last week.
Tjen enjoyed great success at lower-level events last season, but she’s struggling to make that transition on the WTA Tour so far in 2026. Cristian will need to be ready from the start, but her aggressive approach should pay off.
