Jannik Sinner vs Taylor Fritz Prediction
Jannik Sinner has continued his sensational form of the last few months in Turin this week. The world number one has been firing all week and has to drop a set having played De Minaur, Fritz, Medvedev and Ruud.
His semi-final clash with Ruud just followed the same pattern as the previous three matches as he hit his rhythm early, hardly made any errors, and just broke his opponent down to win in straight sets.
He now meets Fritz against who arguably tested him the most on Tuesday but ultimately still lost 6-4 6-4. Fritz can however take huge credit from the way he has grafted his way to the final and is playing some really good tennis too.
The win over Zverev was impressive on Saturday lunchtime in the semi-finals. He started strong and deservedly won the first set. However, the most impressive part of the win was holding his nerve when Zverev bounced back and won the second and producing at the key moments in the final set.
That kind of play in the key moments is going to be needed here against Sinner. He matched Sinner from the baseline on Tuesday which is the first time he has done that, but there were just a couple of key moments that went Sinner’s way. Fritz needs to reverse that trend if he is to somehow beat the dominant Sinner.
We do not quite see it happening. It is impossible to go against Sinner based on how he has been playing now for quite some time. He will be desperate to win on home soil and we expect him to do just that.
