Jannik Sinner vs Novak Djokovic prediction
Jannik Sinner has still not dropped a set at this year’s tournament as he comfortably defeated Alexander Bublik 6-1 7-5 6-0 in the quarter-finals. The Italian made yet another fast start and then edged ahead after a far more competitive second set before racing to victory in the third. He extended his winning record at Grand Slams to 19 matches as he seeks a first major title in Paris.
He now resumes his rivalry with Novak Djokovic in the last four. The Serb produced a phenomenal performance to beat world number three Alexander Zverev 4-6 6-3 6-2 6-4. It was a tactically astute display from Djokovic who utilised the drop shot to great effect and punished a passive Zverev throughout.
Djokovic is on a winning streak of his own, having now gone nine matches without defeat and he still hasn’t lost a completed match at Roland Garros since 2022. The rivalry currently stands at 4-4, with Djokovic winning their only match on clay in Monte-Carlo four years ago. Sinner has had the upper hand in recent times, winning their last three meetings.
Despite Sinner’s dominance so far, he is yet to register a landmark victory on clay and Djokovic should not be underestimated after his display against Zverev and recent record here. We can see this being a close one.
