Jannik Sinner breezed into the semi-finals after overcoming Stefanos Tsitsipas on Wednesday with relative ease 6-2 6-3.

After winning this tournament last year by beating Carlos Alcaraz in the final, Sinner will be eager to go all the way once again but standing in his way for a place in the final is Serb legend Novak Djokovic.

Djokovic is coming off a run to the semi-finals in Shanghai last week where he was upset by Valentin Vacherot. The loss was clearly impacted by injury and the veteran comes into this struggling for fitness.

If this was not an exhibition, there is zero chance of Djokovic participating this week.

Sinner himself is not without his ailments after a long season and he withdrew early in Shanghai himself.

He has had longer to recover than Djokovic and he looked fine on Wednesday. With that in mind, we fully expect him to be far too good and fit for the Serb and a straight-sets win is in the offing for the Italian.
