Jannik Sinner vs Jan-Lennard Struff prediction
Jannik Sinner continued the defence of his Wimbledon title with a straight sets win over qualifier Shintaro Mochizuki. The world number one was not broken on serve and won 82% of his first serve points as he completed a 6-3 7-6 (0) 6-3 victory. Sinner has now won his last 11 matches at the All England Club.
He will now face Jan-Lennard Struff. The German advanced to his first ever Grand Slam quarter-final after his round-of-16 opponent Hubert Hurkacz retired. Struff had gone down two sets to love, but he hit back to level the match in the fourth. Hurkacz decided he could not continue after going 4-2 down in the fifth. Struff became the oldest man in the Open Era to reach the last eight of a major for the first time.
Sinner leads the head-to-head 3-0 and 1-0 on grass. They played against each other at Halle two years ago, with the Italian dropping a set but ultimately going on to win. Struff should be able to cause a few problems for Sinner with his aggressive game, but the four-time Grand Slam champion is still a strong favourite to eventually get the job done.
