Jannik Sinner returns to Turin as the defending champion after winning the ATP Finals last season. It’s been another incredible season for the Italian, reaching all four Grand Slam finals, winning two, while he regained the world number one spot last week after winning his first Masters 1000 tournament of the season in Paris. That was his second successive title after a win in Vienna a week earlier, and he is on a 10-match unbeaten streak. Furthermore, Sinner is undefeated in 26 indoor matches, with the run stretching all the way back to late 2023. Felix Auger-Aliassime is his opponent in the group stage. The Canadian secured his place at the event for the second time in his career after Lorenzo Musetti failed to win the Hellenic Championship last week. It’s been an incredible last few months for Auger-Aliassime, as he beat a host of strong names to make the semi-finals of the US Open, won the European Open in Brussels and then got through to his second Masters 1000 final in Paris at the start of this month, losing to Sinner.
