Jannik Sinner vs Carlos Alcaraz prediction
Jannik Sinner proved too much for 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic in an enthralling last four clash and makes it through to his first ever final at Roland Garros. The Italian was forced to dig deep at times, saving two set points in the third as he sealed a 6-4 7-5 7-6 win against the Serb. Sinner has still not dropped a set at the event and has now won 20 Grand Slam matches in a row.
He renews his rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz after the Spaniard advanced through against Lorenzo Musetti in the earlier semi-final. Alcaraz did not have it all his own way as he lost the first set but eventually outlasted Musetti who was forced to retire in the fourth. Alcaraz was leading 4-6 7-6 6-0 2-0. He enters the final with a commanding 21-1 record on clay this season, having only lost to Holger Rune in the final of the Barcelona Open.
Alcaraz leads the head-to-head 7-4, 2-1 on clay and has also won the last four matches between the pair. Their last encounter was just weeks ago in the final of the Italian Open, with the Spaniard winning 7-6 6-1.
It will be a titanic tussle between the pair with very little to separate them, as Sinner has been the more consistent player over the whole tournament while Alcaraz holds the upper hand in their recent matches. We expect this one to go the full distance.
