Jannik Sinner vs Carlos Alcaraz prediction

Jannik Sinner has played every bit like the world number one in Cincinnati, failing to drop a set in wins over Daniel Elahi Galan, Gabriel Diallo, Adrian Mannarino, Felix Auger-Aliassime and, most recently, French qualifier Terence Atmane.

The Italian recorded a 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 win on his birthday over Pokemon fan Atmane, and he will now aim to defend the Cincinnati Open title he won last year.

Carlos Alcaraz had a losing head-to-head record against Alexander Zverev heading into their semi-final contest, but with the German struggling with the heat and humidity, Alcaraz took a 6-4, 6-3 victory to book a fourth final with great rival Sinner in 2025 alone.

This, however, is their first meeting of the year on hard courts, Alcaraz having triumphed twice on clay – including their French Open final – before Sinner gained revenge on the Wimbledon grass a month later.

The Cincinnati surface is generally thought to suit Sinner’s game more, and he is playing with such confidence right now that he is the undoubted favourite with the bookies.

We agree with that assessment. Alcaraz may lead 5-2 when it comes to their hard-court meetings, but Sinner is playing the better tennis right now and is tipped to defend his title in Ohio ahead of the looming US Open.
