Jannik Sinner vs Arthur Rinderknech prediction
Jannik Sinner made his return to tennis from a three month doping ban at the Italian Open. The world number one extended his unbeaten streak to 26 matches as he reached the final but then lost in straight sets to Carlos Alcaraz. Despite the disappointment of not winning his home event, it was still a very impressive comeback from Sinner, who defeated Madrid Open champion Casper Ruud in the quarter-final with the loss of just one game.
Arthur Rinderknech will be his first-round opponent at the French Open. He’s played a host of clay tournaments in the lead up to the second Grand Slam of the year but has failed to go beyond the second-round of any of them. The Frenchman hasn’t registered successive wins in the main draw of a tournament this season.
Sinner leads the head-to-head 2-1 but Rinderknech won their only encounter on clay, which took place in Lyon four years ago. The world number one should get off to a comfortable start as he aims for a first French Open title.
