Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Bublik prediction
World number one Jannik Sinner continued his serene progress at the French Open as he swatted aside Andrey Rublev 6-1 6-3 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals. He made another fast start, breaking the Rublev serve twice to take a 5-0 lead in the first set and never looked back. Sinner has now gone 18 Grand Slam matches without defeat.
He takes on Alexander Bublik as he became the first Kazakhstani man to reach the quarter-finals of a slam after beating Jack Draper in four sets. Bublik was a break up in the first lead but relinquished his lead yet produced some superb tennis to turn it around and defeat the world number five, winning 5-7 6-3 6-2 6-4.
They’ve not played against each other on clay, but Sinner leads the head-to-head 3-1. Bublik came out on top in their last encounter however, winning in the quarter-finals of Halle in 2023 after the Italian was forced to retire midway through the match. The world number 62 has enjoyed a phenomenal tournament but we expect it to come to an end against a rampant Sinner.
