Jannik Sinner vs Alex de Minaur prediction
Jannik Sinner continued his relentless form as he beat Ben Shelton to make it three wins out of three from the group stage. Sinner was already assured of qualification and made a strong start here as he broke the Shelton serve at the first time of asking. The Italian won 6-3 7-6(3) and extended his winning run to 13 matches and his indoor streak to 29 matches overall. Sinner has not lost at the event since his 2023 final defeat to Novak Djokovic.
He goes up against Alex de Minaur in the semi-finals. Despite losing his first two matches, De Minaur managed to qualify for the next round of the competition. He defeated Taylor Fritz in straight sets and qualification was secured after Carlos Alcaraz’s win over Lorenzo Musetti later that day. The Australian suffered a demoralising loss to Musetti in the second group stage match but dominated Fritz to win 7-6(3) 6-3 and register his first win over a top-10 opponent in over a year, excluding the Laver Cup.
Sinner completely dominates the head-to-head as he leads 12-0. They’ve faced each other on three occasions this year, with the world number two winning at the Australian Open, Beijing and Vienna. His power and precision is likely to prove too much for De Minuar once again as a rampant Sinner eyes his third consecutive final appearance at the event.
