Janice Tjen vs Daria Snigur prediction

Janice Tjen began her Wuhan Open campaign with a straight sets win over Aoi Ito. Tjen won six games in a row at one stage and converted six of her eight break point opportunities, wrapping up a 6-3 6-1 win after one hour and 13 minutes. The 24-year-old has struggled for consistency this season, and she is still without a quarter-final appearance in 2026. 

Her next opponent is Daria Snigur. The Ukrainian produced an excellent display to beat Elise Mertens in round one. Mertens, who had just reached the semi-finals of the China Open, was 4-2 up in the second set but Snigur won five of the last six games to seal a 6-4 7-5 win. This result was preceded by an encouraging run to the round-of-16 in Beijing.

There are only a few places separating the pair in the rankings, but it’s difficult to look past Snigur after her recent displays during the Asian swing.
