Jan-Lennard Struff vs Corentin Moutet prediction

Jan-Lennard Struff came from a set down to knock Karen Khachanov out of the Almaty Open in the round-of-16. Khachanov had taken the first set relatively comfortably, but Struff fought back as he took the second on a tiebreak and broke early in the decider to win 4-6 7-6 6-3. It’s been a difficult season for Struff but he did make the round-of-16 at the US Open as a qualifier two months ago and is now into his second ATP indoor quarter-final of the season.

He will go up against Corentin Moutet in the next round. Moutet recovered from a slow start to defeat home favourite Alexander Shevchenko in straight sets. The Kazakhstani raced into a 4-1 lead, but Moutet broke on three occasions to take the first set. He was in control of the second and wrapped up a 7-5 6-3 victory after one hour and 46 minutes.

Struff is dangerous in these conditions, but Moutet is a quality player who will be determined to round off a strong campaign with a deep run in Almaty. The Frenchman has already reached three semi-finals this season as he surges for that elusive maiden ATP title.
