Alexander Bublik will check the blueprint of his recent win over Jan-Lennard Struff ahead of their clash in Dubai.
The second seed beat the German 7-6 4-6 6-3 earlier this month on his way to the last four in Rotterdam.
However, the Kazakhstani star trails the veteran 3-2 in a head-to-head featuring the full repertoire of surfaces and also lost on an outdoor hardcourt in a Challenger back in 2023.
That said, Bublik has been a different proposition since 2025 and continues to post excellent results with unerring regularity.
Struff is a lucky loser here so may be dangerous given he’s playing with house money, but even if he does the business for a set, he’s struggling to maintain high-performance over a full match in main draws nowadays and Bublik should come up trumps even if he needs to be patient.
