James Duckworth vs Daniil Medvedev prediction
James Duckworth continued his fine progress in Altmaty as he comfortably swept aside third seed Flavio Cobolli in the quarter-finals. The Australian had beaten Gabriel Diallo in the previous round and was in control here, with Cobolli fading in the second set. Duckworth, who made the final of this event in 2021, won 6-3 6-2 and now goes up against former world number one Daniil Medvedev.
Medvedev continued his strong form with a 7-5 6-2 win over Fabian Marozsan. He is now into his third semi-final in succession on the ATP Tour and still has an outside chance of qualifying for the ATP World Tour Finals in Turin.
Duckworth will take great confidence from his recent performances, but Medvedev has turned a corner since the US Open and seems to have rediscovered his rhythm under a new coaching set up. He is without a title since May 2023, and this is a wonderful opportunity to end that drought.
