Jakub Mensik vs Henry Bernet prediction

Jakub Mensik seemed to be running out of steam during the Asian swing as he was forced to retire from his round-of-16 match against Alex de Minaur at the China Open. He then competed at the Shanghai Masters but lost in the second-round to Jesper de Jong after receiving a bye. There have been some real highs and lows for the 20-year-old this season, but Mensik winning his first Masters title at the Miami Open stands as one of the most impressive achievements of 2025. 

He faces Henry Bernet in the first-round of the Basel Open. The 18-year-old is set to make his main draw debut on the ATP Tour at his home event. He is the world number 479 and has won two ITF tournaments this season.

Mensik gave himself a rest before the last leg of the season and should be raring to go. His serve will be even more of a weapon indoors and he will be a commanding favourite to defeat the inexperienced Bernet in straight sets.
