The third seed managed to solve the puzzle of the American’s huge serve to prevail 7-5 6-3 and set up a clash with Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

The Spaniard fought hard to beat Aussie James Duckworth 6-7 6-3 6-4 and tee up a fourth encounter with the talented Czech.
