Jack Draper vs Ugo Humbert prediction
Jack Draper made it three straight wins on his return as he beat Gabriel Diallo to reach the semi-finals in Eastbourne. The former British number one breezed through the first set and crucially broke the Diallo serve deep in the second, serving it out to win 6-1 6-4. Draper is into his first tour-level semi-final since Queen’s Club last year.
He will face Ugo Humbert next. The Frenchman is into the last four of this event for the second straight year after defeating compatriot Quentin Halys comfortably. Halys had won their encounter at Roland Garros last month, but Humbert conceded just the one break point as he won 6-3 6-4.
Humbert leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a win in Tokyo two years ago, though Draper had to retire in the second set. This is Draper’s biggest test so far, with Humbert having won six of his last seven matches on grass. The former world number four will have the backing of the home crowd, but Humbert’s pedigree on the surface and dangerous left-handed game make him a formidable opponent.
