Rising star Iva Jovic recorded the biggest win of her young career in the second round, defeating 20th seed Linda Noskova 6-3, 6-0 to make it to the third round of a WTA 1000 event for the first time. It was only the second time in the last 18 months that Noskova had been bagelled in a set.

Barbora Krejcikova, winner of two Singles and seven Doubles Grand Slam titles, is still working her way back to form and fitness after a long injury lay-off, and the former world number two currently sits at 80 in the WTA rankings.
A battling three-set victory over tenth seed Elina Svitolina in the second round will have done wonders for her confidence though, as she seeks to make the last 16 of a 1000-rated event for the first time since the 2023 Miami Open.
This is a tough one to call. Iva Jovic is a potential star of the future and she will relish the opportunity to go against a big name after her win over Noskova. Krejcikova is still some way off her best so this could easily be a match that goes to a deciding set.
