Iva Jovic vs Anastasia Potapova prediction
Iva Jovic enjoyed a fine run in Cincinnati despite only entering the main draw as a lucky loser. The 17-year-old picked up two wins, including a 6-3 6-0 win over Linda Noskova, to book a place in the third-round. She was on the end of a defeat to two-time Grand Slam winner Barbora Krejcikova in that stage of the tournament but this was a major step in the right direction for Jovic as she continues the infancy stage of her career.
Anastasia Potapova snapped her three match losing streak in Cincinnati but was unable to go much further as she lost 6-1 6-4 to Iga Swiatek in the second-round. Potapova has struggled for form ever since making the fourth-round of the Madrid Open in late April, while her successes this season, which include a title in Cluj, occurred during the earlier part of the campaign.
Jovic is a player with fine potential and will hope to put in another strong showing here. Potapova is not in strong form and the American is well placed to pull off another upset here.
