Iva Jovic defeated Alexandra Eala for the second time in less than a month to book her place in the quarter-finals of Queen’s Club. The American had beaten Eala in the first-round of Roland Garros a few weeks ago, and she enjoyed a similarly comfortable win here as she broke on five separate occasions to win 6-2 6-2 after one hour and 16 minutes.
She now faces world number five Amanda Anisimova for a place in the last four. The 2025 finalist got her grass court season underway with a dominant win over Laura Siegemund. Anisimova won seven games in a row at one point as she wrapped up a 6-1 6-3 victory after just an hour and five minutes.
Anisimova’s aggressive game suits this surface extremely well, but Jovic has a 10-1 record on grass at all levels since the beginning of her career. Anisimova is the favourite, but Jovic is worth a set here.
