Italy vs South Africa prediction

Italy were 19-12 down to Australia with half an hour to play last weekend but dug deep to secure a 26-19 triumph in Udine - their second consecutive victory over the Wallabies having never previously beaten the southern hemisphere side.

The Azzurri now have the unenviable task of backing that up against the world champions and recently-crowned Rugby Championship winners.

Despite playing the second half with only 14 men, South Africa still managed to overcome France in Saint-Denis last week, winning 32-17 against the side they dramatically beat in the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup.

The Springboks will naturally be favourites again here despite this match taking place in Turin, although Rassie Erasmus is choosing to give some game-time to some new faces.

This is unlikely to be overly one-sided as a result, but we still expect the number-one ranked side to win in relative comfort.
