Italy vs Australia prediction

This is Italy’s first action since a two-game series against South Africa in July, where they lost 42-24 in Pretoria before a 45-0 defeat at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

That followed a fairly promising Six Nations campaign in which they avoided the wooden spoon, once again proving that they belong among the tier one nations.

Australia have been active far more recently, falling to a disappointing 25-7 loss to England at Twickenham last weekend, although Joe Schmidt’s selection was hampered somewhat given the fact that a number of key players had not been released by their clubs.

They look stronger this time around with this match falling within the official international window, although they will be wary of an Italy side who claimed a one-point victory when the teams last met in 2022.

This promises to be another close encounter between two fairly evenly-matched sides, but we’re just edging the Wallabies given that they are more match-sharp than the hosts.
