Iga Swiatek vs Yue Yuan prediction
Iga Swiatek picked up her third title of the season last time out as she won the Korea Open with a hard-fought three set win in the final against Ekaterina Alexandrova. She enters the China Open as the top seed after world number one Aryna Sabalenka’s withdrawal. Swiatek has won 23 of her last 25 matches and will be viewed as the favourite to win the event.
Her first opponent is Yue Yuan of China. The world number 110 produced a brilliant display in round one as she beat Yulia Putinsteva in straight sets. She did not face a break point and converted all three of her own as she wrapped up a 6-3 6-3 victory after one hour and 21 minutes.
Swiatek has enjoyed a near faultless stretch over the past three months, except for the US Open, and is likely to start her campaign in Beijing with a dominant victory.
