Iga Swiatek faces seeded opposition in the third round and an opponent on the back of a dominating victory. Marta Kostyuk thrashed Tatjana Maria 6-0, 6-1 last time out, but it goes without saying that Swiatek will pose a far more formidable challenge to the Ukrainian. However, the last time Swiatek faced a seeded player, it was at the Canadian Open and she was beaten in three sets by Clara Tauson.

Now that Swiatek has gotten back accustomed to the hard court though, playing four matches on the surface since Wimbledon, we are likely to see her get better and better as she builds up towards the US Open. If she’s at her best, Kostyuk will struggle significantly when it comes to containing the Pole.
