Iga Swiatek vs Maria Sakkari prediction

Iga Swiatek overcame an early scare to maintain her dominance over Daria Kasatkina and remain on track for a fourth title in Doha.

The Pole shrugged off the loss of the opening set to steamroll through the rest of the match and clinch a 5-7 6-1 6-1 victory.

The top seed will now meet Maria Sakkari for the eighth time after the Greek crushed Varvara Gracheva 7-6 6-0.

Sakkari won her first three matches against Iga but has subsequently lost the next four – all in straight sets. 

One of those wins was in Doha last year with the six-time Grand Slam champion claiming a 6-3 6-2 success.

Swiatek also won here in 2022 by a 6-4 6-3 scoreline and it’s hard to make much of case for world number 52 Sakkari this time around, with the Pole clearly a major force in these conditions.

All seven of their encounters have been won in two and we expect it to be the case with the eighth meeting – and therte will be no surprise outcome either.
