Iga Swiatek took time out of the game after the US Open to recover from various ailments but she did return to play in the WTA Tour finals in Riyadh. She looked in fine form in his opening match in the United Cup as she cruised [past Malene Helgo 6-1 6-0 and she will be keen to hit the ground running in 2025.

She now faces a much sterner test as she comes up against Karolina Muchova who is partnering Tomas Machac for Czechia. Muchova had little trouble herself in overcoming Helgo 6-2 6-2 and she too picked up a win in the mixed doubles also.
