Iga Swiatek continued her progress at Bad Homburg as she beat Ekaterina Alexandrova in straight sets to make the last four. The five-time Grand Slam champion had to deal with a rain delay in the second set but still came through 6-4 7-6. Swiatek is into her second semi-final at the event after also achieving the feat in 2023.
Jasmine Paolini edged past Beatriz Haddad Maia 7-5 7-5 to set up a meeting with the former world number one. The Italian has battled through her last two matches without the drop of a set and is now into the semi-finals of an event this year for the fourth time.
Swiatek comfortably leads the head-to-head 4-0 and easily defeated Paolini in the final of the French Open last year, her fifth major triumph. However, this will be their first match on grass and Paolini now has eight wins from her last 10 matches on grass, stretching back to her final appearance at the All England Club last year.
