Iga Swiatek vs Emiliana Arango prediction

Iga Swiatek won her first title in 11 months at the Canadian Open as she defeated world number two Elena Rybakina in the final. Swiatek dropped just one set at the event, and she is building momentum ahead of the US Open at the end of the month. She now returns to Cincinnati as the defending champion and will look to continue her winning run.

She faces Emiliana Arango in her opening round match. Arango made it three wins from three, including qualifying matches, as she beat seven-time major singles champion Venus Williams in her first-round encounter. Williams never troubled the 25-year-old, who won 6-2 6-2 after just an hour and six minutes. 

Swiatek leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a crushing 6-1 6-2 win in the first-round of the US Open last year. She is performing at a high level once again, and another convincing victory could be on the cards.
