Iga Swiatek vs Anastasia Potapova prediction
In her first tournament since winning her maiden Wimbledon title and sixth Grand Slam overall, Iga Swiatek exited in the round-of-16 after a straight sets defeat to Clara Tauson. Swiatek seemed to struggle with the windy conditions and could not control the majority of the rallies against the Dane. Her attention now moves to Cincinnati as she prepares for the US Open at the end of the month.
Her opponent will be Anastasia Potapova after she won her first-round match. Despite going a break down in both sets, Potapova defeated Laura Siegemund 6-4 6-4. It was not the most convincing of displays from the Russian and she will have to be much improved if she is to get past Swiatek.
Swiatek leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a demolition job in the fourth-round of last year’s French Open. The Pole did not drop a game as she won 6-0 6-0 on her way to a fourth title in Paris. This is likely to be another straight sets win in favour of Swiatek.
