THE PREDICTION
Switzerland were consistent during the group stage of the IIHF World
Championship but this is a tough quarter-final clash with Germany. The
Swiss scored six goals for the second game in succession as they
defeated Great Britain in their final game to finish with five wins from
their seven matches. Germany on the other hand were able to sneak in
thanks to a nail-biting success in their final game against hosts
Latvia, with that 2-1 victory ending a three-game losing streak. The
Germans will be buoyant after that but know they have to make major
improvements and while they are capable of that, Switzerland’s more
consistent group campaign can set them up nicely to claim the win in
this one.
