THE PREDICTION
Germany and Latvia do battle for a spot in the last eight of the IIHF
World Championship with the winner advancing to the next stage. Both
teams come into this on the back of three successive losses so something
has to give here but hosts Latvia will fancy their chances having
forced Norway and Finland beyond regulation time in their two most
recent clashes. Germany on the other hand have struggled in front of
goal after they were shutout against USA last time out while they only
hit the net once against Finland in their prior game. Both are capable
of winning this one but this should be a nervy affair with so much at
stake and that could lead to a low-scoring contest that produces no more
than five goals.
